Anti-wrinkle injection Consultation
Wrinkle treatments consultation
An individual assessment with our Registered Nurse Prescriber, before any decisions are made.
Fine lines and wrinkles can be approached in a number of ways, and the right option depends on your skin, your concerns and your goals. That’s why every journey at SKINLAB starts with a consultation, not a treatment. It’s your chance to talk things through with a medically trained prescriber, ask questions and understand your options.
what happens at your consultation
-
We’ll start by listening to what’s bothering you and what you’d like to achieve.
-
We’ll take your medical history and assess your skin, so we can check what’s suitable for you.
-
We’ll talk through the range of options that may be appropriate, including their risks and benefits.
-
We’ll also cover the alternatives, including options that don’t involve injections, and the choice not to treat at all.
-
Following your consultation, you’ll receive an individual assessment, a prescription where appropriate, a treatment plan and a quotation.
will I be prescribed something?
Not necessarily. A consultation may or may not result in a medicine being prescribed. It depends on your individual assessment, and sometimes the best option is a different treatment or no treatment at all. There’s no obligation to go ahead with anything after your consultation.
the range of options we may discuss
Depending on your assessment, the options we may talk through include:
Skin boosters and regenerative injectables, such as Profhilo, Profhilo Structura, Viscoderm Hydrobooster and Polynucleotides
Microneedling with Dermapen
Medical-grade skincare with AlumierMD
Not every option is right for everyone, and some can work well together. Your prescriber will advise what suits you.
-
Every treatment has risks as well as benefits. We’ll explain these clearly at your consultation, so you can make an informed decision that’s right for you.
Frequently asked questions about wrinkles
-
Yes. A consultation is always needed before any injectable treatment, so we can assess your skin, review your medical history and talk through your options.
-
Your consultation is with Sarah Diamond, our Registered Nurse Prescriber.
-
That’s completely fine. The consultation is there to help you understand your options, and you’ll never be pushed towards a treatment that isn’t right for you.
-
We’ll ask about your full medical history, so please be ready to share any medical conditions and medications.

meet your prescriber
Your consultation is carried out by Sarah Diamond, SKINLAB’s Registered Nurse Prescriber and co-owner. Sarah is regulated by the Nursing and Midwifery Council, has over two decades of clinical nursing experience and has practised medical aesthetics since 2016. She holds a Master’s Level Postgraduate Diploma in Medical Aesthetics, and her background in acute medicine means safety and individual care come first.
Why your prescriber matters
Some aesthetic treatments are prescription-only medicines, so they can only be offered after an assessment by a qualified prescriber. That means the person you see at your consultation shapes the advice you receive, as well as the outcome. Your prescriber will review your medical history, any medication you take and what you’d like to change, then decide what’s suitable for you. Sometimes the right answer is a different option, or no treatment at all.
It’s worth asking any prescriber you’re considering about their registration, and at SKINLAB we’re happy for you to check. You can search for Sarah’s name on the NMC register at nmc.org.uk to confirm it yourself. As a Registered Nurse Prescriber, Sarah can assess you and prescribe where it’s appropriate. She’ll talk you through the risks and benefits of each option, along with the alternatives, and you’re welcome to go away and think things over before you decide. Your consultation is a conversation, not a sales appointment.
