Red Light Therapy

NEW JUNE 2026

Restored, energised, revitalised at a cellular level

Red Light Therapy is a full-body light treatment that uses clinically researched red and near-infrared wavelengths to support skin health, healing, and recovery, working at a cellular level rather than only on the surface.

It's a calm, comfortable, completely non-invasive treatment. You step in, the lights do the work, and you step out feeling restored and energised, with no pain and no downtime.

How Red Light Therapy works

Red Light Therapy delivers specific wavelengths of red and near-infrared light to the body. These wavelengths are absorbed by the mitochondria, the energy-producing structures inside your cells, encouraging them to work more efficiently.

When cells have more energy, they're better able to:

  • Produce collagen and elastin

  • Repair and renew tissue

  • Calm inflammation

  • Support healthy circulation

Unlike UV light from the sun or tanning beds, Red Light Therapy doesn't damage the skin. There's no heat, no tan, and no UV exposure, just calm, low-level light absorbed at a cellular level.

Key Benefits

What to expect from Red Light

The science behind the light

Red Light Therapy is one of the most well-researched non-invasive wellness treatments available today. Originally developed by NASA to support wound healing in astronauts, it's now widely used in dermatology, sports medicine, and skin clinics worldwide.

  • Independent clinical research suggests Red Light Therapy can:

  • Stimulate fibroblast and collagen production

  • Reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and skin roughness

  • Improve recovery from inflammation and redness

  • Support the management of conditions such as acne, rosacea, eczema, and psoriasis

As with any wellness treatment, results build gradually with consistency, which is why we strongly recommend a regular practice rather than one-off sessions.

Is Red Light Therapy right for me?

Red Light Therapy is suitable for most adults and is generally well tolerated, with no known long-term side effects when used as directed. However, it isn't suitable for everyone.

  • Red Light Therapy may not be appropriate if you:

  • Are pregnant or breastfeeding (please discuss with your GP first)

  • Have a known light-sensitive condition

  • Take medications that increase light sensitivity (some antibiotics, retinoids, and others)

  • Have a history of skin cancer or active skin lesions

Eye protection is provided and worn throughout every session. A full medical history is taken at consultation, and your practitioner will advise if Red Light Therapy is right for you.

LightLab memberships

Red Light Therapy works best when it's consistent, which is why we've built LightLab around regular, accessible memberships rather than one-off treatments. Whether you're starting from scratch or maintaining an established practice, there's a plan that fits.
