[MOLES] & WHEN TO GET THINGS CHECKED OUT!
Skin cancer is now the most common type of cancer in the UK, and rates have been steadily increasing over the past few decades. The main reason? UV exposure from the sun and sunbeds.
Signs to look out for 👇
🚩A mole or freckle that changes in size, shape or colour
🚩A new mole that looks different from the others
🚩A patch that is itchy, sore, scaly or bleeding and doesn't heal.
Did you know we offer a mole screening service called Map My Mole?
Access UK consultant dermatologists for an opinion on your mole in as little as 24 hours of image capture.
How it works
✔️Vicky carries out a questionnaire and captures images relating to the mole/s of concern with a special derma scope.
✔️A dermatologist will review the submission.
✔️Report sent back within 24-48 hours
✔️The report will identify your blemish or mole and let you know if it needs further investigation, or if it’s safe to have it removed
With GP appointments becoming difficult, we are proud to offer a super quick and professional service to our customers, and have had several images of concerns reported back to us where further investigations/treatment has begun.
🚩Just last week, a lady visited us after seeing her GP about a mole. She was told it was ‘nothing to worry about’ and informed that blemishes or moles causing cosmetic concern are no longer removed within the NHS. The lady came to SKINLAB to pay privately for the removal of the blemish. Following an appointment with Vicky and images being submitted, the report came back within 2 hours, stating it was a basal cell carcinoma that needed urgent attention.
Scary!
We will NEVER remove a mole or blemish without these checks first.
Mole checks start from £80
We also now offer mole removal in-clinic. A quick and effective treatment to get rid of unwanted moles using thermolysis.
