[Skin Tip] Cleansing… simple, right?

Apparently not.

One of the most common things we hear in consultations is:

“I cleanse with micellar water” or “I just use face wipes.”

Unfortunately, this is where so many skins are being let down, because great skin always starts with getting the basics right.

Micellar water has its place, but it was designed primarily for removing eye makeup, not for cleansing the skin properly. And wipes? They’re a definite no from us. They’re packed with chemicals, they don’t truly cleanse, and all they really do is smear makeup, SPF, oil and daily pollution around the skin, pushing it further into the pores rather than removing it.

Cleansing means using a proper, professional cleanser.

So here’s the SKINLAB rule:

✨ Ditch the wipes, they are bad news for skin health

✨ You can use micellar water to remove eye makeup only

✨ Your actual cleanse should always be with a targeted cleanser suited to your skin type

And in the evening, this is where double cleansing becomes essential.

Your first cleanse breaks down makeup, SPF, excess oil and the day’s environmental debris.

Your second cleanse actually cleans the skin, leaving it fresh, purified and perfectly prepped to absorb the active ingredients in the rest of your routine.

Because if the skin isn’t properly cleansed, your homecare and your in-clinic treatments simply cannot perform at their best.

It’s the most underrated step, but it’s the foundation of every healthy, glowing skin.
