[The Truth About SPF] Why You Need It Every. Single. Day.

We get asked all the time: “Do I really need to wear SPF if it’s cloudy?”

Short answer? Yes, and here’s why.

SPF Myth #1: You don’t need sunscreen in the UK.

Wrong! Up to 80% of UV rays can penetrate clouds. Even on dull, grey days here in Deal, your skin is still exposed to damaging UVA rays, the ones responsible for premature ageing, pigmentation and loss of collagen.

SPF Myth #2: Makeup with SPF is enough.

Most foundations with SPF don’t offer full protection, especially because we rarely apply enough to get the coverage needed. Think of it as a top-up, not your base protection.

SPF Myth #3: You only need SPF if you’re going outside.

Not quite. UVA rays can pass through windows, so even if you’re working from home or driving, your skin is still vulnerable.

Our SKINLAB Tip?
