[Can Zinc Make Your Botox Last Longer?] Here’s What the Science Says…

We’re often asked if there’s anything that can help enhance or extend the effects of Botox, and surprisingly, the answer might be zinc.

A 2012 clinical study published by Koshy et al. investigated whether zinc supplements could improve Botox results. In this double-blind, placebo-controlled trial (the gold standard in medical research), participants were divided into two groups:

One group took zinc supplements for four days before their Botox treatment. The other group took a placebo. 

The results? The group that took zinc experienced, on average, 30% longer-lasting effects from their Botox. Even more interestingly, 84% of those in the zinc group reported a stronger overall effect compared to those who took the placebo.

While more research is always welcome, this study suggests that taking a zinc supplement before your treatment may help your Botox work better and last longer.
