Why I Don’t Believe in the ‘One-Treatment Fix’
One of the most common questions I’m asked in clinic is, “What is the best treatment for my skin?”
And the truth is, there usually isn’t just one.
As we age, there are multiple changes happening within our skin at the same time. We lose collagen and elastin, cell turnover slows, pigmentation can become more noticeable, pores and texture can change, and we gradually lose some of the firmness and structure we had when we were younger.
So expecting one treatment to address all of those things is often unrealistic.
This is why our approach to treating skin has evolved over the years. Rather than looking for a quick fix, we look at the skin and ask: What does this skin actually need?
For one person that might mean improving pigmentation and sun damage. For another it could be stimulating collagen, strengthening the skin barrier and improving hydration. Often, it’s a combination of these things.
Treatments such as NeoGen, microneedling, chemical peels and advanced facials all work differently. Used strategically alongside good medical-grade skincare, they can complement one another and gradually improve the overall health, quality, and appearance of the skin.
And importantly, good skin takes time.
Collagen stimulation doesn’t happen overnight. Pigmentation doesn’t disappear after one facial. Years of sun exposure and ageing cannot realistically be reversed in a few weeks.
It’s exactly why we created our Core Four Club. It reflects how we genuinely believe skin should be treated: consistently, using different modalities throughout the year, with a long-term plan rather than jumping from one treatment to the next.
Our advice? Stop searching for the miracle treatment.
Healthy, resilient skin is built over time. It’s rarely about doing more, it’s about doing the right things, in the right order, consistently.
