[Skin Myth of the Month] “I Can Stop Wearing SPF”
As the sunshine starts to disappear and we head into autumn, it’s tempting to put the SPF away with the summer wardrobe. But if there’s one skincare product that should stay firmly in your routine 365 days a year, it’s your SPF.
While UVB rays, the ones responsible for sunburn, are strongest during the summer months, UVA rays are present throughout the year, even on cloudy, grey autumn and winter days.
UVA penetrates more deeply into the skin and contributes to collagen breakdown, premature ageing, pigmentation, and changes in skin quality. It can also penetrate through glass, which means your skin can still be exposed while driving or sitting next to a window.
And if you’re investing in your skin with treatments such as NeoGen, microneedling and chemical peels, daily SPF becomes even more important. We want to protect the improvements we’re working so hard to achieve!
So while you might be swapping sandals for boots and rosé in the garden for cosy nights indoors, there’s one summer habit we definitely don’t want you to leave behind.
SPF. Every morning. All year round 👌
