dermal fillers

Dermal Fillers are one of the most sought after cosmetic treatments on the current market. They are injected into the skin to effectively reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, but also more recently to restore the volume loss that occurs with ageing.

We used hyaluronic acid dermal fillers. Hyaluronic acid is a substance that is naturally produced in the body. When injected it works by boosting the skin’s supply of hyaluronic acid which in turn revitalises and adds volume to the skin, instantly improving, if not eliminating, the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, giving a more youthful appearance.

The result of a single treatment can last from 6-18 months depending on the area treated and products used.

Lips

Lip fillers are a popular treatment, especially amongst the younger generation, although they have their advantages for any age group. Different hyaluronic acid fillers can be used for varying results. Restoration, volume and definition can be achieved with fillers in and around the lips. We offer needle and blunt cannula techniques for this procedure.

Nasolabial lines

Nasolabial lines (nose to mouth/laughter lines) This area ages due to the loss of fat pads in the middle third of our face (cheeks) so as the fat pads decrease in volume over the cheek area, the skin migrates South, causing the nasolabial lines/folds to appear. Facial expressions such as smiling can also be the cause of the nasolabial lines.

In years gone by it was common practice to fill the lines directly, plumping out the skin to reduce the appearance of the lines, and this can still be done as a standalone treatment with good results.

However, with vast developments in the aesthetic industry, we are now opting to restore cheek volume first before assessing the need for dermal filler in the nasolabial area. Often, once cheek volume is restored, the need for dermal filler in the nasolabial area is greatly reduced. If this is the case, less product will be required in the nasolabial area, and it gives much more of a natural result.

Needle or blunt cannula can be used to treat this area, depending on the practitioner and desired results.

Marionette Lines

Marionette lines, otherwise known as the downturned corners of the mouth are caused by the same ageing process as the Nasolabial lines (laughter lines). As we age, the fat pads that sit above your cheek bones begin to descend. This can accentuate your marionette lines and jowl area. Quite often, restoring cheek volume can dramatically improve this area, or dermal filler can be injected directly into the area to provide structure beneath the corners of the mouth. Needle or blunt cannula technique can be used.

Cheeks

As we age, the fat pads that sit above your cheek bones begin to descend. This can accentuate your nose to mouth lines and downturned mouth as well as the jowl area. By placing a firm dermal filler onto the cheek bone it can have a lifting effect for the whole of the lower face, meaning very little or no filler is required for the lower third of the face. This results in a much more natural and visually appealing result. Depending on the required result either needle or blunt cannula is used to treat the area. Blunt cannula often involves just one insertion point and is considered the safer option with less swelling and bruising and less chance of vascular injury when administering dermal fillers.

Peri-Oral Lines

Peri-oral lines occur due to both the breakdown of collagen and tissue volume loss as we age. This area can be significantly improved by placing small deposits of dermal filler to the affected area(s) to give a more youthful appearance. A fine needle is required to place these deposits. Results are seen immediately but continue to improve over the weeks following treatment as the skin cells rejuvenate.

Earlobe Rejuvenation

A relatively new treatment, dermal filler injections to the earlobe can resolve issues such as torn or stretched ear piercing holes or thinning and limp earlobes. This 15 minute procedure is almost painless and consists of a few injections with our finest needle to plump up the thinning earlobe with instant results. A torn or stretched ear piercing hole restricts the type of earring you are able to wear. With dermal filler earlobe rejuvenation the aim is to make the tear or hole smaller, which will enable you to once again wear whichever earrings you desire

Tear Trough

The tear trough is the area between your cheek and lower eyelid. As we age, we lose volume in this area sometimes causing under eye dark circles to appear.

Deep tear troughs can leave you looking exhausted, even if you have had a good nights sleep, and this can have a negative impact on your confidence and self esteem. In these cases, a minimal amount of dermal filler can make all the difference.

The objective with tear trough treatment is to inject dermal filler into the intricate tear trough area – restoring volume loss and reducing the appearance of dark circles.

Needle or blunt cannula technique can be used to perform this treatment. e seen immediately but continue to improve over the weeks following treatment as the skin cells rejuvenate.
